How much of your brain health is in your hands? This talk explores how lifestyle choices, social connections, and community environments shape brain aging and Alzheimer’s risk. We will highlight "cognability"—the brain-friendliness of our surroundings—and learn how brain-friendly your neighborhood is! In addition to discussing individual and social determinant of healthy brain aging, we’ll clarify misconceptions about "brain health equity" and examine how these misunderstandings are influencing public policy and research funding—threatening vital studies that help Americans stay healthier, independent, and in control of their future.
